We are custodians of ancient traditions — instruments and tuning systems that stretch back to Pythagoras, to the temple musicians of Mesopotamia, to the monochord chambers of the Neo-Platonists. Antiquity is not nostalgia; it is the bedrock from which true acoustic wisdom grows.

Sound is the medium through which these traditions live. Every instrument we carry is chosen for its acoustic integrity — the purity of its resonance, the precision of its tuning, its capacity to embody the mathematical harmonics that govern the cosmos.
The Pythagorean Inheritance
Pythagoras of Samos (c. 570–495 BCE) made one of the most consequential discoveries in the history of thought: that the musical intervals considered most harmonious by the ear — the octave, the fifth, the fourth — correspond precisely to simple whole-number ratios of string length.
This insight, demonstrated on the monochord, revealed something profound: that the beauty we perceive in music is not arbitrary or subjective, but is a direct expression of the mathematical structure of the universe. The cosmos itself, Pythagoras proposed, is a kind of music — a musica universalis, a Music of the Spheres.
Plato built upon this foundation in the Timaeus, describing the world-soul as constructed from the same harmonic ratios. Kepler pursued it in his Harmonices Mundi. And today, physicists recognize that the fundamental particles themselves arise from patterns of vibration.
